Heavy In Your Arms Lyrics - Eclipse

Florence & The Machine (Eclipse) - Heavy In Your Arms 2010 Lyrics

These are Heavy In Your Arms Lyrics by Florence & The Machine (Eclipse).

I was a heavy heart to carry
My beloved was weighed down
My arms around his neck
My fingers laced a crown
I was a heavy heart to carry
My feet dragged across the ground
And he took me to the river
Where he slowly let me drown

My love has concrete feet, my love's an iron ball
Wrapped around your ankles, over the waterfall

I'm so heavy. Heavy. Heavy in your arms
I'm so heavy. Heavy. Heavy in your arms

http://lyrics.kamranweb.com/2010/06/heavy-in-your-arms-lyrics-eclipse.html

And is it worth the wait,
All this killing time?
Are you strong enough to stand,
Protecting both your heart and mine?
Who is the betrayer
Who's the killer in the crowd?
The one who creeps in corridors
And doesn't make a sound

My love has concrete feet, my love is an iron ball
Wrapped around your ankles, over the waterfall
My love has concrete feet, my love is an iron ball
Wrapped around your ankles, over the waterfall

I'm so heavy. Heavy. Heavy in your arms
I'm so heavy. Heavy. So heavy in your arms

This will be my last confession
"I love you" never felt like any blessing
Whisper it like it's a secret
Uttered to condemn the one who hears it
With a heavy heart

Heavy. Heavy. Heavy. I'm so heavy in your arms
(I'm so heavy) Heavy, heavy. I'm so heavy in your arms
(I'm so heavy) Heavy, heavy. I'm so heavy in your arms
(I'm so heavy) Heavy, heavy. I'm so heavy in your arms

I was a heavy heart to carry
My beloved was weighed down
My arms around his neck
My fingers laced a crown
I was a heavy heart to carry
But he never let me down
When he held me in his arms
My feet never touched the ground

I'm so heavy
Heavy in your arms

Heavy. I'm so heavy in your arms

I love this song. I think it's about a girl who loved her ex with all her heart but knew that she had ultimately caused their demise because she had too many emotions (for him and for everything else wrong in her life) and he couldn't deal with it. He couldn't carry her problems with her. They were too "heavy." At least that's how I interpret it. It's the perfect song about the collapse of the relationship of my life.

In captivating words, with a rythmic beat, and grasped onto exquisite and irrevocable vocals, "Heavy In Your Arms" is a song with true meaning and ironic disposition. I listen with a gratifying sadness. A beautiful masterpiece of lost love and the sinking of emotions. Beautifully done by Florence + The Machine. The grace and elegance of this such erotic song makes for a morbidly satisfying atmosphere long after the track dies out. It rings in my ears still. Great song overall!

wow i love this song but i thought something different sort of .. i dont get the " my love has concert feet, my love is a iron ball wraped around your anlkes over the waterfll"{ any help?? Does it mean strong enough to stand thugh any storm???

"My love has concrete feet, my love is a iron ball, wrapped around your ankles over the waterfall," is the most powerful statement in the song. She considers her love a burden, with her lover drowning under its weight. This is a gut-wrenching song that sends chills up my body every time I hear it. Yes! I can only wish to find a love so deep that I can dive into head first without reaching the bottom; unconditional love that is never ending. *sigh*

To help those of you that struggled with the meaning of this song-
obviously if you've come far enough to look up the lyrics you truly care about finding the meaning. I may offer some of my views on the song ad they are yours to interrupt.
One suggestion I offer is that- this is not a romantic song. She is saying that she is either a burden to love or her love is burden. Think about that sentence. Re-read it. The lyrics "My love's an Iron ball wrapped around your ankles under the waterfall" suggests that her loves is a iron ball strapped to her ankle carrying her down. Drowning her under the waves.
Another suggestion is- he's not strong enough to carry her "I was a heavy heart to carry" meaning she is the one drowning him and she wishes she could release him. Although there are fewer lyrics to support this and I like the 1st one better.
P.S. Florence Welch is a beautiful artist her lyrics are like honey to my ears as apposed to the knives in my ears I hear from Bubblegum Pop lyrics. I love Florence and the Machine and I'm glad she's becoming popular but I hope she always keeps her clever lyrics and her timely music that soothes my soul. I would not make it through the week without her.

I'm getting something about how toxic love can be, and perhaps even how the love of someone can make you see redemption.

Some thoughts:

"This will be my last confession, "I love you" never felt like any blessing": recognition that in the past, love has hurt? love has been hard?

"Whisper it like it's a secret, Uttered to condemn the one who hears it, With a heavy heart": What sort of past experience with love could cause one to speak of condemnation upon hearing expressions of love? uttering I love you condemns the person who hears it? Again, love is heavy. I agree with the previous poster than love to her is a burden AND that loving her is a burden (because of her past experiences with love)--and yet, though she is so heavy, with concrete feet and being an iron ball around HIS ankle, he carries her.

Together they try to stand, he tries to carry her--clearly he succeeds on some level: "I was a heavy heart to carry, But he never let me down
When he held me in his arms, My feet never touched the ground"

Related to the movie, I feel like (if this came from Bella); her thoughts that she isn't good enough, worthy of the love of this beautiful immortal. Will she be the weak link in the family that causes the death of those she loves? Why does Edward love her? And, though she sees herself as a heavy burden, he carries her.

Just some thoughts I had--love Florence + the Machine!!

I feel like this whole song is about Edward, how at the beginning of New Moon he left her to drown and at the end he had never let her down like she thought, even though her love is so heavy and she thinks it's a burden to Edward. When he was gone she questioned if he was strong enough to protect both their hearts. But when he came back, she realized that he had never wanted to leave in the first place, he had just wanted to protect her.

this song has made me a believer in fantastic otherwordly beings and by that i mean florence welch. she sings with such fierce melancholy in her voice which is exactly what the song deserves. i don't really think this song fits thw twilight as much as it fits stephanie meyer's 'the Host' . perfect for Wanderer aka wanda, the soul and she thinks she's a burden to humanity and her unattainable love.

I feel it's about faith. That Florence feels her love for Christ must be a burden and that she is also drowning in the pressure of being released from her guilt of being such a difficult person to be forgiven.
